Things to do in Steveston
Whether you are a local or visiting for the day, Steveston offers you a multitude of family-friendly and fun activities. National Historic Sites, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and the Britannia Heritage Shipyard offer visitors a glimpse into the past when Steveston was a centre of the salmon fishery and canning.
Spend a day on the water watching the orcas with one of Steveston's eco tourism companies or simply meander along the boardwalk and quiet streets soaking up the atmosphere of the village. A stroll down fisherman's wharf will allow you to walk alongside fishing vessels and purchase a variety of types of seafood straight off the boat.
Garry Point Park on the shores of the Fraser River is popular with kite fliers and beach goers, while the South and West Dyke trails are popular with joggers, cyclists and dog walkers.
Celebrate Canada Day at the Steveston Salmon festival, an annual celebration that has brought thousands to the village with a parade, salmon barbecue and street entertainment since 1945, or sample fresh produce at the newly established Steveston Farmers and Artisan's market.
Truly a small town within a city setting, Steveston offers a unique escape from the ordinary. Below are some of our favourite sites and activities in and around Steveston Village. Don't forget to bring your camera.
